Walnut Canyon Winds

Ancient ones speak to me on the wind
Tell me of your time here with Mother Earth
Canyon caves of sandstone
Shelter from the blazing heat
bitter cold, whistling wind
torrent rain, silent snow

Work with hands
hands and earth
mind centering

Historical information is sparse
yet, sitting here on the canyon floor
under a canopy of cool whitened rock
sensing what I can only call
a symphony of tree, soft breeze,
and feathered sonnets
I strongly know,
you had joy and peace
