This is an introduction and overview of a project by JHThomas that took several years to complete. In the late 1990s when Adobe graphic products were the best available and in vogue a large collection of digital fish paintings were taken on as an assignment to show the ease with which design could be executed by moving back and forth from a vector drawing program to a raster program.
A selection of popular game fish were chosen:
Species illustrated above include: Largemouth Bass, Carp, Smallmouth Bass, Pumpkinskin Sunfish, Walleye, Striped Bass, Black Crappie, Grass Pickerel, Yellow Perch, Spotted Bass, White Crappie, Bluegill, Sauger Fish, Red-breasted Sunfish, Northern Pike, Great Lakes Muskie, White Bass.
These species provided color and anatomy variety with different scale patterns and fin arrangement. It would require alpha channels, friskets, masks and new custom Photoshop Brushes.
Tis assignment is now complete and on display online as a series of step by step tutorials and as quality reproductions, namely fine art giclee prints and imprinted gift items.
